• 藝術品投資基金最主要的基礎是看產品，真正好的藝術精品的價格只會漲不會跌，澳大利亞的藝術投資顧問佛吉尼亞威爾遜-Virginia wilson 說：藝術品是數百年來一個很有吸引力的投資工具，人們越來越認識到它在近幾十年中比傳統的投資方式更勝一籌，人們獲得的是藝術投資賺取的利潤，而非股息。

• 投資和退出渠道的好壞決定著基金的收益高低。基金的好壞，要看其投資收購模式，同時也要看其退出渠道。據數據統計,在2011年已經上市或者即將推出的藝術品基金不下10個,以私募基金居多,這類基金產品增值速度一般為13%-14%，年化收益率最高可達31%。

• Art funds base their valuation on artworks. The prices of truly outstanding artworks can only go up. Said Virginia Wilson, an art investment consultant based in Sydney, Australia: For centuries, art investment has been attractive, and now people have realized that in the last few decades, art investment brings better returns than traditional methods. People made real profits in art investment, not just receiving dividends.

• Buying and selling channels also determine art funds’ profitability. An investor need to examine the selling channels as well as the procurement model of an art fund. According to statistics, art funds issued in 2011 (mostly private equity funds) are enjoying 13%-14% artwork appreciation. Annualized profit is as high as 31%.

• If an art fund has its own in-house art specialists, it provides investors with an extra layer of protection. After all, the real art experts are the ones who buy and sell artwork first hand on the market.
