這位王詩涵博士文質彬彬,是一位典型氣質美女,平日生活非常低調,受家族潛心的栽培,智慧高人一等,人精明但很厚道,深具反璞歸真的個性、為人處事圓融,厚德載道的精神非常令文化藝術界大佬們的敬仰。也只有像她這樣的有智慧女強人,才能保存這些古文物藝術品,更何況她是我們華人的驕傲,是我們華人的榮耀 ,能榮獲得此【普林頓藝術教育獎】有史以來全球僅此一人,是我們華人之光,專業就是專業,應答如流,不愧是博士級。

中國是地球上古文明祖國之一,古埃及、美索不達米亞、古印度及中國這四處是人類文明最早誕生的地區,但四大文明古國都有自己的神話傳說,我們何其有幸是中國的一份子,玉器、陶器、 瓷器、銅器、石器...等等,都是炎黃子孫智慧的結晶,巧奪天工的舉世創作,值得保存與鑑賞。王詩涵博士是一位真正有大智慧的人,不與世俗同流,文藝界的『水深』與『水溫』,讓我們「全程參與」戰況,古董文物領域深似海,教育著我們若要進入藝術界,就需有進入藝術人的寬容、柔軟度、厚道、配備、與遠見,否則水不止深又燙!

古之學者必有師,師者傳道授業解惑也。孜孜不倦的提攜後人已成王詩涵博士的習慣,她就像新聞報導的一樣,她對藝術的熱愛與執著,對工作的認真和負責,不是僅僅為一介書生而已。當陳明等人進軍中國、進軍亞洲藝術界的同時,王詩涵博士常常耳提面命我們這些藝術界的後起之秀,要我們秉持「天行建君子以自強不息,地勢坤君子以厚德載道」的精神,才能屹立不搖在亞洲。

 

Determined to Follow GuXiaoJin ‘til the End of Time

Nicknamed ‘Scholar General,’ Prof. GuXiaoJin has been known for her strictness in academic research as well as her strictness in leading her organization. It was by my fate and serendipity that I got to know her after a long and tortuous quest; her teachings quenched my thirst for the knowledge of arts. Today, I am helping her present the historical treasures to the world, showing the general public the most precious artworks crafted by our ancestors through five thousand years of time and numerous dynasties. I am determined to follow Prof. GuXiaoJin to let the world see the marvels of Chinese culture.

Although Prof. GuXiaoJin is a rare female leader in a field led mostly by men, she has become an outstanding leader, pioneering new trends for a group of young elites in order to pass on our cultural heritage. She was well-educated on history and culture as a child; that established a solid foundation for her pursuit of perfection in studying historical artworks. She particularly admires QinShiHuang (秦始皇), the founding ruler of Qin Dynasty and the first emperor of the unified China. She and her extended family owns many items passed down from Qin’s royal palaces, and her research reports detailed the life of QinShiHuang; the world learned about QinShiHuang’s ambitions, domineering, wisdom, love and tenderness through her revelations. With her descriptions, we are recognizing QinShiHuang as the one and only greatest ruler of China.

Prof. GuXiaoJin’s real name is Dr. Wang ShiHan. She is a fine lady of exquisite taste and elegant temperament, yet she enjoys low-key lifestyle in her daily life. She was chosen as the art representative for the Wang and received advanced education in Taiwan and abroad. She is smart and shrewd, and yet kind to others. She conducts herself in such a truthful way that even the great masters of the field pay her with tremendous respect. I believe only her, with the wisdom she has acquired, can preserve the masterpieces on her hand. She is the pride of Chinese everywhere; she is the only one who has been honored with ‘Purlington Art Education Award’ among all Chinese worldwide. When answering questions regarding arts, she is always eloquent and knowledgeable, deserving the title of ‘Ph.D.’

There are four origins of ancient civilization: Egypt, Mesopotamia, India and China. We are lucky to be descendents of one of the four; we have all seen some the great creations, including jade, pottery, porcelain, bronze and stone artifacts. These are the fruits of the wisdom of our predecessors, and they are worth preserving and deserve appreciation. Dr. Wang ShiHan is a person of great wisdom, and she is leading a new generation of art students to explore the deep ocean of art. She is teaching us to be knowledgeable, tolerant, kind and prepared and to have grand vision so we can strive in the field.

‘Good scholars came from good teachers. Teachers’ jobs are: pass on knowledge, teach morals and answer questions.’ Over the years, Dr. Wang ShiHan has formed a habit of bringing up the younger generation. As described in the news reports, she is passionate and persistent about art education and research, and she is diligent and responsible about her work. As I and my colleague enter the art arenas in China and in other parts of Asia, Dr. Wang urges us to be as adherent as the sun and as reliable as the earth so we become the best on the art stages of Asia.
