清嘉慶年間藝術風格繼承了自古相傳的中國玉傳統，並將玉雕達到了巔峰時期，晶瑩剔透而又靈動的『玉白菜』，栩栩如生令后人嘆為觀止。中國御制玉雕精品『玉白菜』，單色純淨、鮮麗繁複的巧雕，為皇家級珍藏傳家之寶的重要特質，清仁宗對『玉白菜』愛不釋手視之為稀世傳家之寶。這說明了中國文化包容力的深遠博大，晶瑩剔透而又靈動的玉白菜，是美麗、完美、透澈、善良、誠實、正義的化身。在整個玉器發展史上，華麗奪目的清嘉慶  玉白菜，其樂融融的皇家生活場景躍然眼前，白菜有納百財的說法、滿堂富貴、萬壽無疆、具內斂特質的溫潤光澤，是非常重要及可參考的歷史標準玉器。1928年淪為海外遺蹟。

White Nephrite Jade Napa Cabbage Sculpture 

JiaQing Era of Qing Dynasty

According to historical records, this napa cabbage sculpture made from HerTien white jade was a product of the Imperial Workshop of Qing Dynasty. It was finished sometime between 1796 and 1820 during Emperor JiaQing’s reign.

Jade is a relatively soft stone with characters of translucency and luster. White jade from HerTien area of XinJiang was considered the best jade in the world with ultra fine texture. This sculpture had been praised as “perfect” in terms of quality and color of stone, shape and details of the object and its craftsmanship. It deserved to be a great treasure cherished by the royal family.
